Albana Dèi is back, the itinerant tasting of the great white from Romagna

Appointments in Faenza, Brisighella, Dozza and Imola: tasting tables and award ceremonies

The 10th edition officially kicks off

After the "preview" that took place in Bertinoro at the beginning of the month as part of the Vino al Vino event, the tenth edition of the Albana Dèi wine selection is now officially kicking off, from an idea by Carlo Catani and Andrea Spada, promoted and coordinated by the Consorzio Vini di Romagna.

The event has always been aimed at bringing attention to an extraordinary and only Romagna vine, from which wines of great personality originate that deserve to be known and enjoyed by the wider public, going well beyond regional and national borders.

NEXT EVENTS

An itinerant tasting that will visit some of the most significant and evocative villages and locations in Romagna over the weekends: the Oriolo Tower, on the first hills of Faenza, Sunday 16 October from 2 to 6 pm; double appointment for Sunday 30 October, 3-6 pm, in Brisighella (Vineria Coramella via Gattamarcia 3) and Dozza inside the Rocca, headquarters of the Enoteca Regionale Emilia Romagna. Last stop in Imola, on the terrace of the racetrack, Sunday 13 November from 5 to 10 pm.

TASTING COUNTER

In all locations there will be a tasting counter to allow the public to taste and appreciate the seven finalist wines of Albana Dèi: Romagna Albana 2021 - Tenuta Colombarda di San Vittore di Cesena, Codronchio 2020 - Fattoria Monticino Rosso di Imola , B.G.G. 2020 - Giovannini of Imola, GP Founders 2021 - Merlotta of Imola, Montemar 2021 - Spalletti Colonna of Paliano di Savignano sul Rubicone, Masselina 2021 - Masselina Estate of Castel Bolognese, Vitalba 2021 - Tre Monti di Imola.

The finalist wines were selected "blindly" on 30 September by a technical jury made up of critics from the main wine guides and sommeliers. The response of the technical jury will define the awarding of the prize to the best Romagna Albana DOCG in dry version. The public, called to taste and vote on the finalist wines, will compete to award “L'Indigeno del Cuore – Valter Dal Pane prize” to the best wine from Albana grapes in the dry version.

The awards will take place in December.

«This annual appointment is an opportunity to take stock of one of our most identifying grape varieties, to spread its culture by affirming its extraordinary nature and character in the richness of interpretations of the producers from Romagna". Thus the President of the Consorzio Vini di Romagna, Ruenza Santandrea, who concludes: «Albana is giving us great satisfaction, the public's interest in the dry versions that guide the denomination is growing, one step away from celebrating the million bottles» .
