A Double Stop in the Faenza Hills for Albana Dèi 2023

Events in Brisighella on October 8 and at Torre di Oriolo on October 22

Mosaico di Vita | Consorzio Vini di Romagna

As in recent years, following the “preview” held in Bertinoro during Vino al Vino on October 1, the new edition of Albana Dèi officially kicks off. Conceived by Carlo Catani and Andrea Spada, and promoted and coordinated by the Consorzio Vini di Romagna, the event was created to shine a spotlight on an extraordinary, uniquely Romagnolo grape variety – Albana – capable of producing wines with great personality.

As always, Albana Dèi is a traveling tasting event that takes place over the weekends in some of Romagna’s most charming villages and locations. The journey begins with two stunning venues in the hills of Faenza:
Brisighella (Vineria Coramella, Via Gattamarcia 3) on Sunday, October 8, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Torre di Oriolo on Sunday, October 22, from 2:00 to 6:30 p.m.

TASTING BENCH

At both venues, visitors will have the opportunity to taste and discover the seven finalists of this year’s Albana Dèi – all strictly Romagna Albana DOCG Secco wines. Some are new vintages of familiar names, past winners included; others are making their debut as finalists.

Here are the finalists, listed in alphabetical order by producer:

Albana Mia 2022 – Baccarini Guido (Faenza)
Colombarda 2022 – Tenuta Colombarda (San Vittore di Cesena)
Codronchio 2021 – Fattoria Monticino Rosso (Imola)
G.G.G. 2021 – Giovannini (Imola)
Albarara 2022 – Tenuta Santa Lucia (Mercato Saraceno)
Vigna Rocca 2022 – Tre Monti (Imola)
Vitalba 2022 – Tre Monti (Imola)

The wines were selected via blind tasting on September 30 by a technical jury composed of wine critics from major Italian wine guides and professional sommeliers. Their judgment will determine the official winner among the dry Romagna Albana DOCG wines.

The public, meanwhile, will also be called on to taste and vote for their favorite – awarding the “Indigeno del Cuore – Valter Dal Pane Prize” to the most beloved wine made from Albana grapes in the dry style.
